A paper map that knows where you are.
Offline topographic sheets on a 4.7-inch e-paper screen, your position from the on-board GPS, explicit GPX walk recording, optional LoRa group radar, and a 240-article survival guide. The panel holds its image with zero power — so a glance costs nothing.
Why e-paper on the trail
Phone screens fight daylight and drain batteries whenever you look at them. Krok turns the LilyGo T5 E-Paper S3 Pro into a dedicated pocket sheet: north-up vector topo maps with 20 m contours (Manual §06), physical edge buttons you can press with gloves (Manual §02), and deep sleep that leaves the map visible on the glass (Manual §14).
-
Offline topo sheetsHalf-degree vector tiles (zoom 12–16) with 20 m contours, trails, peaks, water, and a built-in DEM grid (how maps work).
-
Position on paperOnly the small marker window refreshes while you walk; the sheet redraws only when you near the edge (Manual §06).
-
Trails & elevationLoad any GPX route, fit it on the map, and scrub its elevation profile with your finger (Manual §08).
-
Walk recordingTouch-only Start / Pause / Resume / Finish bar, auto-pause when still, and a 24 h temperature graph (Manual §07).
-
Group on LoRaSee companions on the map over 915 MHz Meshtastic, send quick phrases, or drop Camp / Water pins.
-
Survival guide & books240 illustrated field articles with instant offline search, plus your own
.txtand.mdbooks (Manual §09).
Manage everything over Wi-Fi
At home or in camp, open File transfer (Manual §11). Krok joins your Wi-Fi or creates its own hotspot and serves a local web page to download Maps, upload GPX routes and books, and edit your packing list.
